Leonardo Lorenzi is a passionate and driven professional with an impressive background in sustainable food and beverage development. Born and raised in Perugia, Italy, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to sustainable development and innovative food research throughout his career.
As a PhD student in “Energy and Sustainable Development” at the University of Perugia, Lorenzi is deeply committed to the development and implementation of sustainable practices. His research and academic pursuits have given him a thorough understanding of the industry’s complexities and challenges, equipping him to contribute meaningfully to the field.
In addition to his academic work, Lorenzi is also involved in real-world applications of his knowledge. He is currently a Researcher at Developeat, where he manages projects related to new food development. His responsibilities at Developeat include recipe development and testing, scientific research, and the upscaling and industrialization of food products.
Leonzi has an extensive background in the food and beverage industry, beyond his current roles. He has been the R&D Manager at theBroda since 2015, where he has developed beer and fermented beverages. He has successfully formulated custom beer and gin prototypes for restaurants, businesses, and private events and has scaled up these recipes at associated breweries and distilleries. His work in this role has led to the creation of over 38 beer recipes and eight gin recipes.
In the past, Lorenzi served as a Beverage Consultant at The Spiritual Machine, where he honed his skills in packaging design, product design, and food stability. He also held a student internship at Scacciadiavoli Az.Agr., where he conducted quality control, microbiological and chemical analyses, and managed production processes. Furthermore, Lorenzi completed a student internship at CERB – CEntro di Ricerca per l’eccellenza della Birra, where he performed chemical and microbiological analyses of raw materials, semi-finished products, and finished products in the beer industry.
Lorenzi is not only known for his work in the laboratory but also for his ability to engage with the public. He was a radio speaker for Umbria Radio InBlu, where he created and hosted the entertainment program “Il Saggio del Villaggio.”
Beyond his professional and academic pursuits, Lorenzi has shown an ability to bring people together through his role as an Event Organizer for Seaty. This event, which ran from 2016-2019, was created and coordinated by Lorenzi and attracted over 100 participants each year.
With his diverse set of experiences and his commitment to sustainable development, Leonardo Lorenzi continues to make significant contributions to the food and beverage industry.
